Cemetery
Evergreen was founded in 1907 as a place outside of the Tucson city limits for burial purposes. A considerable number of burials from the cemeteries located within the town limits as well as Ft. Lowell Cemetery were then relocated to Evergreen. To this date remains from ranch sites and homesteads are still reinterred within Evergreen's boundaries.
Evergreen has been owned and operated by the Addison Family since 1960, serving our community in their time of need. Foreseeing the need for complete family service in one convenient location, Evergreen Mortuary was established in 1974, making Evergreen the first mortuary, cemetery combination in Southern Arizona. Steeped in this proud tradition, Evergreen's commitment to the Tucson community remains as we consistently strive for excellence in family service.
When the National Funeral Directors Association initiated its "Pursuit of Excellence Program" in 1982, Evergreen became a part of that program. Since then Evergreen has been consistently recognized for its participation, receiving three Eagle Awards and since then gaining prestigious Emeritus status and ultimately receiving three Crystal Eagle Awards.
