Henry ‘Hank’ James Cook, age 84, formerly of Cedar Lake, Indiana passed away in Tucson, Arizona June 30, 2021. Henry was preceded in death by Parents; Walter F. Cook Sr and Violet (Stevens)- Brothers; Ronald ‘Bud’ (Genivery ‘Gennie’) Cook, Robert ‘Red’ (Carol) Cook- Sisters; Dorothy (Lloyd Wood), Margarette (Richard ‘Dick’ Banser), Gladys (Robert ‘Dick’ Spencer), Beatrice (Richard ‘Dick’ Graper), Donna (Eugene ‘Gene’ Wood)- and his Wife (1979-1991) Eileen ‘Boo’. Henry is survived by Brother; Walter F. Cook, Jr (Rosemary) – Sister-in-Law; Carol Cook - Children; Patricia Daily, Sherryl (John) Reeves and Lorrie (John) Johnston– Grandchildren; Laura (Bryan) Severin, Leslie (Brian) Schueman, Ashley (Justin) Cunningham, Sara Reeves, John Reeves Jr- and two Great-grandchildren; Brooklyn and Harper. Raised in Merrillville, Indiana, Henry was active in 4H programs as a young man winning ribbons for showing pigs and was proudly photographed in the local paper. After graduating from Merrillville High School, he entered the Army serving time in Germany. In 1966 Henry served as Constable of Ross Township. Henry moved to multiple States but always found a home of friends at the local American Legion proudly serving as Commander of American Legion Post 261 in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Henry will join his beloved ‘Boo’ at their final resting place in Tucson, Arizona, on Friday August 13th, at 9:00 a.m. in Block 21, Section C.
