Martin Roberto Jacinto

Martin Roberto Jacinto, long time resident of Tucson and Douglas, passed away on March 1, 2022. He was born July 29, 1944 in Douglas, Arizona to José and Isabel Jacinto. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1964 and joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served until 1968. He married Oralia Gomez on August 12,1972. They settled in Tucson where they raised their three children and shared 41 happy years of marriage until her passing in 2013. He worked as a Journeyman welder for Magma/BHP for 30+ years and later as an aide for Marana School District. Martin was a hard working man and avid reader who enjoyed spending time in his yard tending to his garden. He was preceded in death by his brothers Johnny, Abram, and Benny. He is survived by his children Rob, Jaime and Diana, his seven grandchildren Salma, Siomara, Lila, Cruz, Miles, Isaac and Jacob, his siblings Peti, Priscilla, Frankie and Elena. Prior to his passing he was a resident of Douglas where he spent his remaining years reconnecting with old friends and family along with his partner Juanita Almader. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 11, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers his family is asking for donations to be made to the Pima Library Foundation at https://www.library.pima.gov/donate/ in memory of Martin.
