February 8, 1924 - October 29, 2021
Ruth Dee Seagle was born on February 8, 1924 in Binger, Oklahoma. On December 15, 1935, her family moved to the small town of Tucson, Arizona arriving by train. She considered Tucson her home and enjoyed reminiscing about her 86 years of living in The Old Pueblo. This included meeting her beloved husband, Bob, who was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB for a brief time during WWII. They married just prior to his deployment to England in 1944 and enjoyed fifty-four years of married life until his passing in 1998. Together Ruth and Bob enjoyed many years of volunteer service through the Telephone Pioneers, serving at Kino Hospital for several years conducting newborn hearing screenings, as well as working in the gift shop. Later, she continued her volunteer service making Hug-A-Bears and supporting Red Cross Blood Drives. Ruth was a very talented artist who enjoyed acrylic and watercolor painting and ceramics. Ruth enjoyed the splendor of the Arizona sunsets, nature, and the Sonoran Desert. She took great pride in tending to the natural vegetation in her own yard until she was nearly 90 years old. Ruth’s pride and joy was her family. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Of greatest importance to Ruth was her relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a born again Christian and it was truly her heart’s desire that all would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and accept Him into their heart. Ruth never met a stranger and shared the Good News of God’s love, mercy, and grace at every opportunity. As a founding member of Victory Assembly of God, Ruth taught Sunday School and enjoyed many life-long friendships. In recent years, she continued to enjoy church fellowship attending the Super Senior Saints group at Pantano Christian Church. The Lord was faithful to Ruth all the days of her life. He answered her prayers, especially her petition to be of sound mind as she aged. She experienced tremendous peace and comfort in prayer, singing cherished hymns from memory, and hearing favorite passages read from the Bible. In her final days, she was surrounded by her loving family. On October 29, 2021 Ruth Dee Seagle was called to her eternal home in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Iveson Seagle; son, Richard Gregg Seagle; parents, John Wesley and Pearl Mattie (King) Pitcher; sister, Eva Berniece (Pitcher) Wolfe; and brother, John L.A. Pitcher. She is survived by sons John (Mary) Seagle and Bruce (Tamra) Seagle, her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as countless others who were blessed to know her and call her family or friend. A celebration of life graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery Tucson, Arizona on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
