As a child growing up some of my best memories are of Aunt Verlas trips to So. Ill. And I am very thankful on my last visit with her we talked about that That even though she was the farthest away I have the most memories of her and then once they moved to AZ we spent a lot of time together and I appreciate all I learned from her and all she and joe did for our family she will be missed
I remember visiting Aunt Verla and Uncle Joe as a little girl when they lived in Livermore. I remember they had a lime or lemon tree in their back yard and we got to pick from it and thought that was so fun. Then as a newly married woman when I was about 20 or so, my first husband and I visited them again. We went with Aunt Verla and one of her friends, I can't recall who, to a road trip to Lake Tahoe from Livermore. I was astounded that Aunt Verla and her friend didn't sleep at all during the trip! They were there to gamble, and gamble they did! I can't recall if they won any money, they probably did. I know we didn't. Rest in peace, Aunt Verla.
