Alan Howard Cole's Obituary
Alan Howard Cole Born in 1931 in Chicago and died July 23, 2014 in Tucson. Beloved husband to Helen L. Cole, of Tucson; devoted father to Lisa Robyn Cole of Tucson and Ian Neal Cole of Waco, TX; and cherished grandfather to Tori Rhea Seay. Mr. Cole served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force Dental Division. He graduated from Roosevelt University, Chicago in 1959, where he met his wife, Helen. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. He then earned his Master's Degree from California State University of Los Angeles in Secondary Administration. Mr. Cole taught Junior High and High School until 1969. Mr. & Mrs. Cole opened Cole's Baby News, a children's department store in Goleta, CA and acquired their second store in Ventura, CA. He returned to teaching in 1983 and retired in 1994, when they moved to Tucson. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the University of Arizona Cancer Center, 3838 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, 85719; the Jewish Community Center, 3800 E. River Rd., Tucson 85718 or the U of A Men's' Basketball Fund. The family wishes to thank everyone at Starfish Care Home and TMC Hospice for their care and concern. Graveside Service will be held in the Congregation Ner Tamid Section of Evergreen Cemetery, Wednesday, July 30, 2014, 10:00 A.M. with Rabbi Richard Safran officiating.
