Alfonso D. Rand's Obituary
RAND, Alfonso Dustin “Al”, 77 of Tucson, died March 1, 2016. Preceded in death by his son Thomas Jeffery Rand, he is survived by his beloved wife Otilia “Tillie” Rand. Devoted father of Cindy (Randy) Gamble and step son David Valencia of Tucson; dear brother of Pearl Sylvia of California, Elizabeth Gutierrez of Safford, AZ and Thomas J. Rand Jr. of New Mexico. Cherished grandfather of Dustin (Katie) Smith, Giovanna Gamble-Geissler (Joshua), T.J. Rand, Loren Rand, Daven Valencia, Beau Gamble and Joiel Goerke; also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Rand served in the US Army and was a member of the 182nd Air Borne. He was employed for 40 years by the AZ Water Company in Bisbee before retiring in 2000. Al was a member of St. Vincent de Paul and the Kiwanis Club. He lived his life for his family and was blessed to have so much love! There are not enough words to express the loss we feel but also are so thankful to have been blessed with a devoted husband, dad and grandfather. His grandchildren loved hearing their Papa Al’s stories, singing and playfulness. At his request there will not be a public service.
