Allen Martin Derman's Obituary
Allen, age 53, passed on July 9, 2015 in Tucson. Allen was born in The Bronx, and raised in Tucson and attended Rincon High School (1979) and earned a Systems Engineering degree from the University of AZ (1984). Allen lived in Denver for the past 20 years and loved to camp, hike and photograph the great outdoors and especially Yosemite. Allen was an expert chess player and enjoyed shooting pool.
He loved his cats and volunteered at animal shelters. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Janet; step-mother, Helen Plotkin. He is survived by his brothers, Stephen (Cori), Burt (Michele); step-sister Rosalie Chinsky (Howard) and nieces, Julia and Jenna Derman. His family would like to thank everyone at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, especially Dr. T and Brenda for their great help and support. We also thank the wonderful staff at Peppi’s House and StarFish Care Homes. Funeral services will be held graveside on Friday, July10, 2015 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent to the University of Arizona Cancer Center, 1515 N. Campbell Ave, Tucson AZ 85724.
