Allen Paul Erenberg's Obituary
Dr. Allen Erenberg, 72, passed away November 20, 2015 in Tucson, AZ. He was born in Chicago, IL. He attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine and graduated in 1967 with an MD degree. He received his neonatology training in Torrance, CA, was in the USAF Medical Corp for two years, and then went to the University of Iowa where he rose to become chairman of the department of neonatology. He later served as chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center and Medical Director of Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA. He then came to Tucson, where he was section head of neonatology at University Medical Center. He retired in 2007. He was immediate past president and a devoted member of Congregation Ohr Chadash.
Dr. Erenberg is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Howie (Heidi) Erenberg of Overland Park, KS, Sheryl Erenberg (Ariel Centurion) of Egan, MN, stepson Nick (Anissa) Snyder of Atlanta, GA; brother, Dr. Gerald (Shulameth) Erenberg of Cleveland, OH; six grandchildren, Alexander, Jonathan, Laura, Maya, Betsy and Charlie; and was a beloved uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Services were held at Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Tom Louchheim officiating on Sunday, November 22nd.
