Andrew Thomas French, beloved partner to Leonard Holcombe for the past 23 years, passed away after a long illness on Friday October 8, 2021 at the age of 59 in Tucson, AZ. He leaves behind the love of his life and partner of 23 years Leonard Holcombe, sisters (Renee Juarez and Tammy Decker), children (Austin, Alden, and Mindy), 4 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 2 great granddaughters, 1 niece, 2 nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
Andy was born on October 22, 1961 in Mesa, AZ and graduated from Burney High School class of 1978, in Burney, CA. His love and passion for hair, fashion, and design lead him to study at and graduate from, both McMinnville Beauty College in Portland, OR and Edward Wadsworth Institute For Hair Design also in Portland, OR. He moved to Arizona in September of 1998 and on October 15, 1998 met the love of his life, Leonard Holcombe. One week shy of 23 years later the longest they had been apart was five days.
He loved music, his favorite artist was Dolly Parton, played many instruments, and loved to play the guitar and sing for anyone who would listen. He enjoyed Sunday karaoke at Brodies in Tucson, AZ and was a member of Casa Adobe United Church of Christ in Tucson, AZ where he looked forward to bringing the potato salad.
Andy is preceded in death by his brother Carter, daughter Rhonda, and nephew Donnie.
A Celebration of Life in Andy’s honor will be held in the summer as he will forever be remembered as the life of the party.
