Armando B. Navarro Sr.'s Obituary
Armando Navarro, a beloved husband, father, brother, cherished grandfather, and friend passed away on October 29, 2025, he was 78 years old.
Armando was born on May 19, 1947, in Tucson, AZ where he grew up, lived, and raised his family. Armando and Norma met at the age of 14 and 16 years old while in school and continued dating after he enlisted in the Navy in 1964. While in the Navy, he became a respected shipfitter of the USS Haleakala AE-25 and was honorably discharged in 1968 after completing his four-year term. Armando and Norma were married at Santa Cruz Catholic Church on November 16, 1968, celebrating 56 years of marriage last year.
Armando worked at the Pima Mine for nearly two years but found his way into
construction as a cement mason. He also did occasional side work on weekends and even had his own business specializing in artistic colored cement work. His last and final project was the Tower movie theaters before retiring at 62 years old. Armando enjoyed time outdoors camping, fishing, and gardening. He was always tinkering away in his workshop working on rockets to launch, models, motors, cars, and anything he could take apart. He loved to learn how things worked. His workshop was filled with several tools, each having a purpose and always handy when needed. A lifelong learner, Armando rested by watching Discovery, History and Nature channels. He also enjoyed nights out at the casino with Norma. He led life with a sense of humor, laughing when he was able to pull off a good prank. Armando was an amazing storyteller and shared many of his life lessons. He will be missed beyond measure, and we will treasure the life lessons and the memories we shared.
Armando is survived by his loving wife Norma, sisters Gloria Nolan and Evangelina Hill. He is also survived by his children Monica Mora (Larry Mora), Armando Navarro Jr. (Daniella Navarro), Raymond Cardenas, nine grandchildren, Vanessa Navarro, Desiree’ Navarro, Ashley Garcia, Celina Cardenas, Mando Navarro, Raymond Cardenas Jr., Andres Navarro, Brianna Cardenas, Adrian Navarro, eight great-grandchildren Erik, Xavier, Zendaya, Meilani, Isaiah, Miguel, Josiah, and Brielle.
