Barbara M Bailey's Obituary
Barbara M. Bailey, born November 8, 1946, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026.
Barbara took great pride in a lifetime spent caring for others. She worked for many years in the hospitality field as a dedicated prep cook, where her talent in the kitchen became both her craft and her joy. Later, she continued her life of service through her work in nursing, offering comfort, compassion, and steady support to those in need. Her hands were always busy—cooking, helping, nurturing—and her heart was always open.
Barbara was known for her remarkable cooking, the kind that brought people together and made every gathering feel like home. She also had a deep and abiding love for animals, a tenderness that extended to every creature she encountered. Her beloved dog, Lexi, who preceded her in death, held a special place in her heart.
Barbara is survived by her two children, Karen A. Fouts and Greg Gurgew, who will forever carry her strength and kindness with them. She was a proud grandmother to Justin, Michael, Ghinny, and Della Rose, each of whom brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Blome, whose memory she cherished throughout her life.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her for her warmth, her humor, her generosity, and the way she made every person—and every animal—feel cared for. Her legacy lives on in the meals she lovingly prepared, the compassion she shared, and the family she adored.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
