Barbara Ann Stewart's Obituary
Barbara Ann Stewart (nee Channell), 70, passed away on August 22, 2017, in Tucson, Arizona.
Barbara was born on December 13, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Albert Channell, Jr., and Mary Belle Channell (nee Bailey). She was also predeceased by her brother Albert Channell III. The family lived in Dundalk, Maryland, but later moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, in the early 1960s.
Barbara was a 1964 graduate of Dundalk High School, where she was an avid softball player. She worked for Bell Atlantic before joining Defurio, Mongell and Associates as a commercial telemarketer.
Barbara was known as a very kind and loving person, who was always willing to help another in need. Beside her life-long interest in sports, Barbara was an avid Santa Claus collector. She was also a devoted wife, mother, and sister to her five siblings. Barbara was known for her sugar cookies, which she would make by the thousands for friends and family each year at Christmas.
Barbara is survived by her husband, J. Marshall Stewart, of Tucson; two sons, Stanley Milligan III, of Baltimore, Edward Milligan and his wife Jessica, of El Paso; four siblings, Paula Broda, Steven Channell, Mary P. Stanley, and Michele Hensel; four grandchildren, Austin Milligan, Destiny Milligan, Colin Milligan and Emmalyn Downey; along with many other nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service was held on Wednesday, August 30th, at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson. A separate memorial service will be held in the Baltimore area in the future.
