Barbara Jean Torres' Obituary
Barbara Torres passed away on March 21st, 2019 at the age of 84. Barbara Jean was born to Harold and Joy Gage of Tucson AZ. On March 28th, 1934. She is survived by her children Lori and Bobby Lummus, Ronald Compton, Marinda and Jerry Faulkner, and Lenore Compton as well as ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great- great- grandchildren, and brothers Ted Gage, Frank Gage, Mike Gage, and preceded by brother Art Gage.
Barbara attended Amphitheater High School, and afterword set out on many adventures, but always called Tucson her home. Barb worked in banking for many years, she also traveled to Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand as part of her husband’s job. They came back with many stories and memories. Barb and her husband Frank had a short stint running a Stagecoach van after returning to Tucson
Some of Barbara’s pastimes were bird watching, her cat Punky, sewing, crossword puzzles, reading, watching Jeopardy, and was an avid U of A fan. However, her most favorite thing to do was to cook for her family. Cooking was one of the ways she showed her family how much she loved them, and boy she must have loved them, because she was a great cook!! Her Christmas tamales will be sorely missed.
A perfect day would include food, family, friends and a game of poker.
In loving memory of mom.
