Betty May Beal's Obituary
Betty May Beal passed away peacefully on March 16, 2021 of natural causes at 94 years old. She resided in Tucson, Arizona for 35 years. She was previously known as: Betty (William) Lindsey and Betty Shook.
She had faith that when she was “absent from the body, she would be present with the Lord.”
Betty Beal was born on September 24, 1926 in Lockbourne, Ohio to Edward Shook and Myrtle (Sowers) Shook. She grew up on their working dairy and crop farm in Baltimore, Ohio with her four brothers and three sisters.
The life Betty made in Arizona during the warm winters was filled with family, church activities, and friendships. In the summer she traveled back to Ohio where she enjoyed her family and acquaintances. Betty had many hobbies – reading, working on ceramics, word puzzles, knitting, crocheting, also she was particularly good at computer puzzle games.
Betty was preceded in death by her son Harold L. Lindsey, son-in-law James H. Looney and grandchild James David Looney, and brothers Frank “Peck” Shook, Edward “Stub” Shook Jr, Floyd Shook, and sisters Helen Eloise and Marie Gaines with many nieces and nephews and family.
Betty is survived by her children, Robert (Maureen) Lindsey, Sr of Ravenna, Ohio; Shirley (David) Looney-Walker of Tucson, AZ; and John (Lou Ann) of Tucson/Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law Terry Lindsey of KY;
10 grandchildren, Robert, Jr, Bill, Rebecca, Ronald, Pamela, James Brian, Lonnie, Charlie, John, and Kathleen. 11 great-grandchildren, Amber, B.J., Sam, Justine, Jessica, Micah, Alysha, Corey, Jonah, Abigail, and Hannah and 9 great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Elsie Sheets of Ohio, and her brother Daniel (Chris) Shook of Ohio and many nieces and nephews with families.
Celebration of Life to be arranged in late spring if possible. We respectfully ask that no flowers be sent. Thank you.
