Billie Fairchild's Obituary
Bill Fairchild passed peacefully in Tucson, Arizona on July 21, 2016. Growing up he was a well-liked student athlete, who also enjoyed picking a guitar with his rock n'roll band. After graduating from San Manuel High School in 1969, Bill joined the United States Marine Corp. Having received various accolades for exemplary service and character throughout his enlistment, and after proudly reaching the rank of SSgt. and serving time in the Vietnam War, Bill was honorably discharged. He retired from Corrections Corporation of America in 2011. Through his later years he would often be seen & heard joyfully sharing the academic & athletic accomplishments of his youngest daughter Stephanie who will attend Grand Canyon University on academic scholarships in the fall, grandson Adrian who followed in his papas military service footsteps becoming a U.S. Airman in 2015 & granddaughter Destenny who also desires to join the United States Air Force. Bill is survived by his wife of 20 years GiGi and daughter Stephanie Fairchild of Coolidge, Laura Fairchild and Tenny (Bryan) Clark of Casa Grande, grandchildren Adrian (Linda) Rodriguez & Destenny Fairchild of England, siblings Michael (Nicole) King of Tucson, Patricia (Tony) Collins and mother Laura Mae Fairchild of San Manuel, having been preceded in death by his father, G.C. Fairchild also of San Manuel. A final farewell will be held graveside at Evergreen Mortuary 3015 N Oracle Rd. Tucson, AZ on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers we kindly ask you make a donation to the charity of your choice in his loving memory.
