Bonnie Elaine (Wagner) Rock's Obituary
Bonnie Elaine (Wagner) Rock, a former Krueger Middle School teacher in Michigan City, Indiana, and renowned local artist in Plymouth, Indiana, passed away on September 16, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital, in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Bonnie was interred at the Evergreen Mortuary & Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday, October 28th, 2023.
Bonnie was born to Phillip and Marie (Pastuszak) Wagner in La Porte, Indiana, May 21, 1941.
She graduated from La Porte High School in 1960 and from Ball State University in 1964.
After teaching in Michigan City, Indiana after college, she moved to Costa Mesa, California, with her husband, Doug Rock after their marriage. While living in California, she studied, practiced her art of mixed media/collage.
In 2007, Bonnie moved to Plymouth, Indiana, where she continued her art. Bonnie owned the boutique, “Rock on 109” for a few years and then “Thistle and Clove” at 109 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth, Indiana.
Most of her art was donated to the Midwest Museum of Art in Elkhart, Indiana, as a permanent studio art collection.
Bonnie was loved for her incredible generosity and kindness by those who knew her. Her infectious laughter and love will always be missed and remain within our hearts.
Bonnie is survived by her immediate family: her twin brother Daniel Wagner and wife Janice in Tucson, Arizona, brother Robert Wagner and wife Marcy, in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, nephew Ted Wagner and wife Lisa, in Indianapolis, Indiana, niece Tonya Smith and husband Jeff in Stella, North Carolina, niece Erica Wagner and husband Jonathan Kandell, in Tucson, Arizona.
