Bruce M. Luster's Obituary
With the heaviest hearts, we announce the passing of Bruce McGregor Luster on March 24th, 2024 in his hometown of Tucson, AZ. He was 47 years old when he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack in his home. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by the people he loved most, his wife and children.
Bruce was born on August 21st, 1976 in Irchester Northamptonshire England to Euphemia (Fay) and Bruce Knappen. He had two older sisters, Bernice who was 3 years old and Kelly who was only 11 months older than him. They lived in England and Scotland for a short while before immigrating to the US in December of 1977. His parents divorced and his mom was later remarried to Greg Luster. Fay and Greg had two more children, Shawna and Conner. Bruce later changed his last name to Luster to honor the father that raised him.
Bruce had a personality that was larger than life. As a young child he was full of mischief and mayhem and gave Greg and Fay plenty of grey hairs. He attended Palo Verde High School and Pima College in Tucson. He loved creative writing and poetry. He worked in many fields before opening up his own landscaping and weed control business with his brother Conner and sister in law Sara.
Bruce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a two year Spanish speaking mission in Salt Lake City. He met the love of his life, Amy at a church activity in 1995 and they later married on February 17th, 2001. Together they had two wonderful children, Shelby and Ian. Bruce loved being a father more than anything else.
Bruce was best known for sense of humor. He loved making jokes and pulling pranks on everyone. He enjoyed playing video games with his kids and his nieces and nephews. He collected comic books, action figures, and sports memorabilia. He loved to cook and bake.
Bruce was outgoing and gregarious. He talked to and made friends with everyone. He quietly helped those in need. He was loyal to his family and always put them first. His passing leaves a hole in the lives and hearts of everyone who knew him.
There will be a memorial service on Monday April 1st at 1pm at the LDS chapel at 939 W Chapela Dr in Tucson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Go Fund Me set up for Amy and the kids to help with expenses at this time.
