Bryna E. Hellman's Obituary
Bryna E. Hellman Beloved wife, mother and grandmother.Bryna was a forty-seven year resident of Tucson who fell in love with the city and the mountains as she stepped onto the tarmac August, 1966 even though it was 105 degrees. She was an inveterate walker and walked daily in the foothills enjoying her beloved mountains. She was born in the Bronx, New York and finished high school there at Taft High School. She passed away on March 27, 2012 after a long, valiant fight against pancreatic cancer, struggling not to leave her loved ones. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Francine Green; son, Gary Michael Green; stepson, Maurice R. Hellman; and her grandson, Jesse Aaron Green. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Hellman and son-in-law, C. Daniel Green. She was beautiful, vivacious, loved life, was a world traveler and was devoted to Jewish life and learning. She was a life member of Haddassah, belonged to AIPAC, and donated both time and resources to Anshei Israel, and other Jewish institutions and charities, as well as many other causes over the last forty years. Bryna also worked with breast cancer patients as she was a breast cancer survivor herself for 36 years. Bryna had a lifelong affair with MahJongg, and played for the last twenty-five years with the same group of friends. "I count myself in nothing else so happy as a soul remembering my good friends." She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Chapel service, Friday, March 30, 2012 at 1:00 P.M., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W.
