Carleton Kevin Mock's Obituary
It is with love and respect that we announce the passing of Carleton KEVIN Mock, who left this world peacefully on April 28, 2025 at the age of 75 while living in Tucson, Arizona.
Born on July 18, 1949 in Chadron, Nebraska to Carleton S. and Tracy M.(Kopac) Mock. The family moved from Nebraska to Story, Wyoming when Kevin was five years old, relocating to Sheridan, Wyoming one year later.
Kevin grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming graduating from Sheridan High School in 1967. He was a man of great spirit, resilience, and passion, and lived a life marked by service, creativity, and unwavering authenticity.
Kevin came of age during a time of profound cultural change. He found his voice in the power of rock music and never let it go. Whether it was the sound of Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, or Led Zeppelin, Kevin found rhythm in the rebellion and soul in every chord. His love for the guitar wasn't just a pastime - it was an extension of who he was. Friends and family remember the joy in his eyes when he played, especially during impromptu jam sessions that turned into treasured memories.
Kevin proudly enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era, first he was stationed in Germany then volunteered to go to Viet Nam. This chapter of his life shaped his strength, humility, and deep appreciation for peace. Though he rarely spoke about the war, the quiet depth in his eyes said more than words ever could. He carried those memories with honor and grace.
Beyond his music and military service, Kevin was an accomplished silversmith who made exquisite Native American jewelry. Above all, Kevin was a loyal friend, a steady soul, and someone who lived life by his own rules. His stories were many, his laughter was contagious, and his presence filled every room he entered.
Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and infant-sister Judith. He is survived by his sister Kimberly (Mock) Goodmay, niece Corenna Goodmay, nephew and wife Wade and Mystee Goodmay, great-nephew Greysen Goodmay, along with dear friends who will forever miss his undeniable voice, his well-worn guitar, and the echoes of rock and roll that always followed him.
In Kevin’s memory... Crank up your favorite record, raise a glass, and let the music play.
Rest easy, Kevin. The stage is yours now, forever. God bless you brother!!
