Carol "Jody" Brunson's Obituary
Carol “Jody” Brunson, 83 of Amado, AZ passed away on May 27, 2023.
Carol was born on September 16, 1939, to Delbert Amberson and Jessie Mae Mims in Silver City NM.
Carol spent her childhood at Elephant Butte Lake during the school year and the ranch outside of Silver City during the rest of the time. She often referred to her youth as the best of both worlds as opportunities for adventures were endless.
Carol settled down with Robert E. North in the Tucson area and had two children, Catherine (1956) and Johnny (1960). Carol remained strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. After the children were grown, her love for art re-emerged. She created one-of-a-kind painted gourds specializing in the Southwest.
Carol was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Earl North. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy L. Roberts, her husband Donald of Amado., Grandson, Billy Earl Garrett of Marana., and Sister, Nickie (Amberson) Kross and her husband Chuck of Port Richey FL.
In typical Carol fashion, there are no services planned, and certainly no pomp and circumstance. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to an organization for children or animals, something Carol felt strongly about.
Happy Trails until we meet again.
