Cary M. Fishman, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away October 26, 2024. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Judy of Tucson; his son David and wife Janet of McLean, Virginia; his son, Jeffrey and husband, Daniel Carter of Falls Church, Virginia; and his grandsons Alexander of Atlanta, Georgia and Jacob of Washington, D.C.
Cary was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Central High School. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and his Master’s degree in engineering Management from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Cary started working for the U.S. Army rising to the position of Deputy Project Manager of Satellite Communications. After retiring in 1995, Cary and Judy moved from Oakhurst, New Jersey, to Tucson, Arizona. In Tucson, Cary enjoyed continuing his ham radio activities by helping with El Tour de Tucson bike race. He also enjoyed his activities with the optimist’s club, serving as President of the Rincon Club and Lt Governor of the Arizona District. He served as the leader for many trips for the Friendship Force, and participated in a few camera clubs.
Donations can be made in Cary’s memory to the Optimist’s Club, c/o Gary Howell, Treasurer, at rinconoptimists.org or Congregation Anshei Israel at caiaz.org. He was a wonderful human being, very generous with his time, and this simple summary scarcely does him justice.
