Cathy Moldenhauer Fields' Obituary
Cathy Moldenhauer Fields, Resident of Sahuarita, AZ, Cathy died June 11, 2011 after a valiant battle against lung and brain cancer. She was born January 11, 1952 in Casper, WY to C.R. and Lilly Moldenhauer. She was raised in Amarillo and was a 1970 graduate of Palo Duro High School. She received her nursing degree from Pima Community College and her masters of nursing education from University of Phoenix. Cathy was a registered nurse at St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson. She excelled in the area of nursing management where her natural leadership abilities were utilized. Cathy was a highly intelligent individual for whom reading was a passion. She had a variety of interests that included cooking, quilting, cross-stitching, sewing and playing computer games. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her youngest granddaughter, Jayden. She loved playing the role of Nana and having the opportunity to expose Jayden to the beauty of the world around her. She is preceded in death by her father, C.R. Gube Moldenhauer and her sister Karen Jean Dove. She is survived by her husband, Vern Fields of Sahuarita; children Shari McGowen (Kirk) Ellis of Hereford, TX, Jason McGowen (Gary Cortez) of Tucson, Julie McGowen (Joseph) Tsethlikai of Green Valley; two granddaughters Kyla Ellis of Lubbock, TX and Jayden Tsethlikai of Green Valley; mother Lilly Moldenhauer of Amarillo, TX; siblings Carla (Roy) Watson of Proper, TX, Jerry (Linda) Moldenhauer, Rick Moldenhauer, both of Canyon, TX, Randy Moldenhauer of Spring, TX and Alan (Tama) Moldenhauer of Canyon, TX. A celebration of Cathys life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at North Swan Baptist Church, 2727 N. Swan Rd., with Pastor Gary Marquez officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Carondelet Hospice & Palliative Care, 1802 W. St. Marys Rd., Tucson, AZ 85745 or Carden Christian Academy, 2727 N.
