Charlotte Dolores Louis' Obituary
Charlotte Dolores Louis, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, June 19.
Charlotte was born on December 14, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to Anna and Joe Niering. She gave birth to three children on the east coast before moving to Tucson in 1961. On June 8, 1963, she married Albert Louis.
Charlotte was a hard-worker who often held three jobs at a time to make ends meet for her family. She worked at Bell Aircraft for 15 years as a payroll supervisor. In 1976, she and Al opened Al’s Deadwood Place in Tucson. She and Al touted the Deadwood as the “Cheers of Tucson” where friendship and respect were the establishment’s defining values. Even after Al died in 1993, Charlotte continued to manage the Deadwood until it closed its doors in 2008.
Charlotte’s passion was working hard to best provide for her family. Apart from that, Charlotte was an amazing cook who loved to read.
Charlotte was pre-deceased by her husband Al and sister Mary. She is survived by three children: Bob Kern and his wife Dana Kern, Debra Qabazard and her partner Bill Keenen, and Donna Brownlee and her partner David Wik. She is survived by three grandchildren: Hal Morgan and his wife Betty Jo Morgan, Kristen Kern and Gavin Gray. She is survived by three great-grandchildren: Charlie Mae Morgan, Legend Morgan and Law Morgan.
