Charlotte Marie Niemotka's Obituary
With heartfelt sorrow, yet deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Charlotte Marie Niemotka. She passed peacefully on the evening of February 17, 2026, at her home in Tucson, Arizona, and now rests in God’s loving embrace.
Charlotte was born on July 10, 1939, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to
Jake and Nellie Reed. She spent most of her life in Tucson and graduated from Amphitheater High School in 1957. A woman of remarkable grace, style, and
unwavering strength, Charlotte lived with quiet determination and elegance.
She devoted many years to being a loving stay-at-home mother before beginning her career with the Amphitheater Speech and Language Department. Later, she became a successful realtor on the East Coast, where she lived with her beloved husband, Lt.
Colonel Raymond Niemotka. Together they shared homes in Toms River, New Jersey, and Tucson, Arizona, traveling between them each year. Charlotte cherished the changing seasons of the East Coast and treasured her winters in Tucson, surrounded by her children and grandsons.
She found joy in playing the piano, traveling, shopping, reading, and spending time in nature. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love for her family was immeasurable and steadfast. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Raymond Niemotka; her parents; and her brother, Bobby Reed.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Lance Burns and his wife Jennifer; her daughters, Shawn Burns, Teresa Burns, and Beth Callender; her cherished grandsons, Triston, Noah, and James; and her sister, Sue Reed.
Private services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen
Cemetery near her beloved grandmother, Frances Gammill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Pima Animal Care Center (PACC), or the American Cancer Society.
Though a light in our lives has dimmed, we pray that its glow remains
within our hearts, souls, and memories. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
