Clark George Borth's Obituary
Clark G Borth escaped his mortal realm on Wednesday November 4th at the tender age of 84, presumably to not have to watch anymore of the Presidential election B.S. He was born February 27, 1936 in Spencer Wisconsin – “Bonka” as many knew him, was a kind and generous soul with a wicked sense of humor and a world famous spaghetti recipe. For years he would spend hours in his kitchen concocting his sauces to feed the family as well as the many veterans he did his Spaghetti dinners for at American Legion post 76 which he fondly called “the club”. His surviving wife, Karen Borth encouraged the process by “making him” do it monthly.
A talented musician, he played guitar, accordion and harmonica as well as sang his way through life instilling the love of music in his surviving and only child, Ellen. The sound of country music drove his wife insane, but she tolerated it only to revenge him during the holidays with non-stop Christmas music.
An avid DIY, he enjoyed projects around his home and could “fix” anything with a chain saw, a tape measure and enough duct tape. His legacy lives on in the many rock walls he built in and around Madera Canyon, during his forest service years.
Not much of a sports fan, his love for the Green Bay Packers was never wavering. From Bart Starr to Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers, he enjoyed watching them win and complained about their every loss. To which he’d say, they should’ve won that game!
Bonka was never one for sentiment or religiosity - which is ironic as he was a chaplain in his later years, but he would want you to know his greatest joy was his grandchildren nick- naming him “Bonka.” He cared deeply about making people smile with his completely tasteless jokes on the internet. (check your spam folders but don’t open them at work!)
He was world-renowned for his lack of patience, not holding back his opinion and generally telling folks like it is.
Following his wishes, there will not be a service, but well wishers are encouraged to raise a toast of Christian Brothers Brandy , or Cold Duck if you prefer and drink it in his honor.
He leaves behind, his wife of 63 years Karen (Boots), his daughter Ellen, 2 grand children Cortney (Drew Carlisle) and Erin (Robert Salle) his great grandchild, Ash and his always delightful brother William (Bill).
Rest easy Dad. You were loved and will be missed by all. May you always get to hear your favorite country music and have unending supplies of popcorn, ice cream, brandy and Cold Duck on your next adventure as well as reunite with your ugly dog Dot-Dot.
