Clayton Edward Matheson's Obituary
Clayton Edward Matheson passed away on December 26, 2019. Clayton was born on November 20, 1995 at Tucson Medical Center, Tucson, AZ to Teresa and Brandon Matheson. Clayton lived most of his life in Tucson with a few years in Sartell, MN and a brief time in Oak Park, IL. Clayton attended middle school and high school at St. Gregory College Preparatory School, and graduated high school in May, 2014. He enlisted in the Arizona Army National Guard in August, 2013 during his senior year of high school. He served 6 years in infantry and was honorably discharged in August, 2019. Clayton was a senior at The University of Arizona studying Electrical Computer Engineering. He was an active brother in the Theta Tau Chi Chapter Fraternity for Engineers.
Clayton was a loving son and older brother and a loyal friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Clayton loved spending time outdoors; fishing, hunting, archery, camping, and snowboarding. As a child he enjoyed spending a week at the lake each summer with his family fishing in northern MN. Clayton loved animals and enjoyed working with electronics, technology, cars, trucks and motorcycles. He especially loved riding motorcycles. One of his favorite places to ride was up Mt. Lemmon.
Clayton will forever be loved and cherished by all who knew him and will always be remembered for his radiant smile, infectious laugh; and his warm, kind and generous spirit.
Clayton is survived by his parents, his brother, Jared Matheson and sister, Melayna Matheson; his grandparents, Dottie and Bob Moen of Sartell, MN and Debra and Landon Matheson of Chicago, IL along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Susan Matheson.
