Joel Ewing
Oh Geez.....too many memories to list. Was his brother Jeff's (RIP) age, and hung out with him over at that gorgeous Long's home with it's huge Eucalyptus Trees and the Arizona room.....eating ice cream sundaes and watching the 3 channels on local TV. This would have been '67 thru the early 70's. Was with Jeff and hanging out up at Skyline C.C., where parents Bob and Arabel were playing tennis. Jeff and I heard our names being called over the intercom there, and when we met up with them moments later, found out that Dale had "blown his foot off"....supposedly from a home-made bomb (chlorine and wesson oil.....don't do it please!) and well.....suffice it to say that I was around their family a LOT. Maintained good upbeat relationship always with Dale....he could be just funnier than all get-out! I always enjoyed running into him wherever it happened to be, and we always laughed and picked up where we left off the last time we'd run into each other. I'm an ardent, steadfast "Believer", and truly hope that I'll get to cross paths with Dale when I cross over. In the meantime, rest easily, Dale.....you are missed and will be forever. PS.....years ago he gave my wife Dail and me some kind of exotic cactus.....and I managed to keep it alive (miracle) and it's HUGE now for what it is. It screams DALE each time I look at it..... I told him about it being really big and healthy about a year or less ago, and he had forgotten giving it to me. He was truly glad that it had survived and would be an item that would make us remember him each time we see it. Rest Easily, Dale. Well done! Miss you, Brother and don't forget US down here....until we get the chance to all laugh and carry on together again. God Bless us all. Joel and Dail Ewing Tortolita, Az. Joel (CDO '73).
