David Dean Alexander Jr's Obituary
David Dean Alexander Jr of San Manuel AZ died May 26, 2026 after a brief but courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. David was born to the union of David Dean Alexander Sr and Belen (Gonzalez) Alexander in Bourbon MO on October 16,1952 on the family farm. The family relocated to Bisbee AZ when he was an infant. David graduated from Bisbee High School in 1971 and joined the United States Navy shortly after. While in the navy he served aboard the USS Enterprise. He served 2 deployments off the coast of Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1975 and returned to Bisbee to work in the copper mines. On Aug 23, 1976 he married Darlean Hoeppner and welcomed her infant son Anthony into his life as well. From the union 2 additional sons, Joseph and Richard, were born.
David was proceeded in death by his wife, grandson, parents and grandparents. He's survived by his sons Anthony (Susan) Hoeppner of TN, Richard (Kendra) of CO, Joseph of Safford AZ, sister Patricia Porter (Jack) of Bisbee AZ, brother William (Janice) of MO, granddaughters Hailee Hernandez (Benjamin) of NM, Shelly and Darlean of OH and great grandson Salvador Hernandez of NM.
David loved the outdoors. He was happiest when hunting, fishing, hiking, and running. He enjoyed the simple things life had to offer.
If you ever heard him repeating something it probably was "Dammit Joe or Let me call Rita ".
While his friends and family mourn his passing they also celebrate a life well lived and plenty of memorable moments. David's legacy lives on in the stories his family and friends will continue to tell along with the lessons he shared.
