McCabe, Dennis Michael
We lost a strong man with a generous heart February 18, 2019 after a long battle with illness. Denny (Bea) was the son of William R. McCabe and Theresa Boden McCabe born in Chicago, Illinois August 7, 1943. He leaves his wife, Dyann, and son, Phillip Mayer, two stepsons, Bill Clemons and Mark Clemons. He leaves his sisters, Maureen Schaedel (Robert), Theresa Rothe (Steve), sister-in-law, Ruth McCabe, nephews and nieces: Michael Schaedel, Michelle Chase, William R. McCabe III, Shana McCabe, Brian Harris, and Steven Rothe. He was preceded in death by his brother William R. McCabe Jr., his sister Carol-Ann Harris, his brother-in-law Donald Harris. Dennis graduated from Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. He served in Vietnam in the Infantry. When he settled in Tucson he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Arts Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Arizona. He worked as a substance abuse counselor. Dennis loved sports from an early age especially wrestling, football, and baseball. He was All-Army Wrestling Champion twice and a Champion in the 1963 Midlands Tournament. He supported and aided Arizona high school and college wrestling
teams.
Graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 N Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ 85705 followed by refreshments and remembrances at St. Odilla's Parish Hall 7570 N. Paseo del Norte, Tucson, AZ 85704.
