Diana Kay Cunningham's Obituary
In Loving Memory.
Diana Kay Cunningham passed away on October 7, 2021. Diana was born on June 24, 1946 in Danville, IL to parent Dale and Virginia and is the oldest of seven children. Diana is survived by her daughters Kimberly and Melissa; Grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Casey and Jesse; and Great Grandchildren Reighlynn, Hayden, Seeley, Leo and Sawyer. She is preceded in death by her parents Dale and Virginia, brother Gary, and son James (Jimmy).
After the death of her young son, Diana eventually found hope and healing by being of service to other parents grieving the loss of a child. Diana helped create grief support groups in several states, was the former Executive Director for the national organization ‘The Compassionate Friends’, taught courses in self-care for caregivers and family of terminal patients, and provided grief support counseling with Hospices in the Phoenix area.
Diana dedicated her life to helping others and doting on her grand and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed by so many friends and family.
A Celebration of Life Service with be held for Diana at
4:30pm, Friday, January 28th, 2022
