Dollie E. Bender's Obituary
BENDER, Dollie E. August 14, 1929 - May 25, 2025
Dollie was born Dollie Eileen Jones on August 14, 1929, in Bellevue, Ohio, to Clayton Jones and Miriam (Wollenslegel) Jones. She grew up in Bellevue, Cincinnati, and Sylvania, Ohio, settling in Toledo as an adult. In August 1958 Dollie married Bud Bender. In 1972 the family moved to Kino Springs, Arizona, where Dollie was a manager with Mountain Bell. They moved to Tucson in 1984 and Dollie retired from Westin La Paloma in 1991 to care for an ailing Bud, who passed away later that year. Dollie volunteered for Northwest Medical Center for over 21 years and then at Laguna School with the NAU Foster Grandparent program.
Dollie is survived by her 3 children: Linda (Ed) Bolyard, Jim (Laura) Bender, and Judy (John) Benavidez, as well as 8 loving grandchildren: Amy (Josh) Gottry, Kris Bender, Steve (Laura) Bolyard, Daniel (Stacy) Bolyard, Katie (Cale) Baldwin, Eric (Miu) Nelson, Carley (Kyle) Smith, and Marisol Benavidez. Dollie also greatly loved her six great-grandchildren: Emily & Caleb Gottry, Andy Bolyard, CJ & Cailee Baldwin, and Hayden Smith. She is also survived by her loving brother and sisters, Bill Jones, Carole Kilgore, Alice Grasse, Vicki DiGiulio and their families.

Since we had a wonderful celebration of Dollie’s 95th birthday, services will be private. Arrangements by Evergreen.
