Dolores Marshall's Obituary
Dolores Marshall was born on May 7, 1946 to Howard and Lorene Higgins in Tucson, Arizona. She was the fourth of seven daughters born to this union. She graduated from Tucson High, class of 1964, before going on to earn her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Nursing and Business from the Universities of Arizona and Phoenix. Dolores served as a leader in the medical field for over 30 years, seventeen of which were at Tucson Medical Center where she began her career as a staff nurse and concluded as the Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President of Patient Services. She went on to serve as an executive consultant and/or interim VP of Nursing for dozens of medical facilities across the country, including the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Despite all her successes and accolades Dolores could not be defined exclusively by her career. She was much more than that; she was a loving, caring, loyal, selfless mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was very optimistic, choosing only to see the good in others. That was a characteristic that came natural to her, one which was cultivated more so after accepting Christ and being baptized at Prince Chapel AME Church along with her mother and siblings. But let’s not forget the fact that she was a devoted Wildcat fanatic…GO CATS!
Dolores is survived by her three children, Alice Robinson, James Sykes and Marc Marshall. As well as her five sisters, Alice Allen, Annie (George) Ravenell, Janet (Arthur) Mobley, Janice (Sterling) Carter, and Darlene Hart. Three grandchildren, Ryan Robinson, Michael Robinson, and Matthew Montano, one great granddaughter, Marlene Montano and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded to glory by her parents, Howard and Lorene, and her eldest sister, Bennie Mae “Pat” Green.
Rest in peace. You will be missed but never forgotten and loved by all.
