I just remembered another precious memory that I would like to share. Several years ago Dora mentioned that she always wanted to see the butterfly display at the Botanical Gardens. She felt sad and commented that it was probably too late for that now. In that moment, I decided that I was going to make that happen for her - and I did. I arranged the outing that included my mom (who has since passed), my client/friend Betty (who is now 94yrs), my sister Karen, Betty's daughter, Becky and, of course, Dora and me. It was a magical time for all of us - but especially for Dora! The instant we stepped into the display area, a beautiful blue butterfly landed on Dora's shoulder and stayed there the whole time. After we had enjoyed this really spectacular display of nature at her best, we headed for the exit. It was at that moment that the blue butterfly gently flew off. We all believed that it was a sign from God acknowledging to Dora that prayers do get answered.
We went on to share a nice lunch together and walked the grounds a little with Dora in her wheelchair. It was such a delightful day!
