Doris Dorfman's Obituary
Doris Dorfman It is with ineffable sadness that we mourn the passing of Doris Dorfman (nee Parnis; 89 years) September 19, 2015. Dear, loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandma, is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Art; sister, Renee (Phil); daughters, Marcy (Lisa) and Suzyn (Jak); grandchildren, Jeff, Cheryl, Brian and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Makinley, Devin, Eli and Maddie, as well as her precious nieces and nephews. Born in Bayonne, NJ, Doris and Art raised their children in Roselle, NJ, where she served as President of the Sisterhood of Cong. Emanu-El. Doris' talent for writing parodies and clever show scripts provided many fun-filled and pleasurable evenings at both Temple and Hadassah events. Upon the birth of their first grandson in Tucson, Doris and Art picked up stakes and headed West. Doris was the Executive Secretary and Office Manager for The Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona for many years. Upon her retirement, Doris was honored with The Jewish Federation's "Woman of Valor" Award for her volunteer services at Handmaker and her administrative talents she brought to Las Familias. She valued and cherished her family and friends above all else. Doris was intelligent, articulate, thoughtful and a 'Force of Nature.' We will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Please join us for a Celebration of Doris Dorfman at Temple Emanu-El on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.
