Doris Evelyn Price's Obituary
Doris Evelyn Price, nee Sweat, born July 23, 1942 to Brice & Jimmie Sweat (1918-1992) in Wartburg, Tennessee, Doris left the suffering of this world behind, and ran into the loving arms of our Savior on Friday, September 25, 2015. She is survived by her husband, Jay, daughter, Jamie (Eric), son, Joel (Ashley), father, Brice, and sisters, Vivian and Lillian. She continues to watch over them and her 6 grandchildren, Megan, Gracie, Macy, Hudson, Captain, and Baylor.
Doris was a Member of Eastern Star Lodge in Morgan County, TN. She graduated a RN from Knoxville's St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1963, and moved to Tucson, AZ that same year. Doris met Jay (Joel) Price in the summer of 1970. They were engaged on Valentine’s Day, and married May 14th, 1971. Doris and Jay later became members of Casas Church in Tucson. Many visits to Arizona ghost towns and outposts marked their early years as a couple, and parenthood soon followed. Doris retired from nursing in the 90s, and much of the recent years has seen the two of them traveling (including 12 countries, and all 50 states), enjoying quiet days at the cabin in Pinetop, and spending time with their grandchildren.
