Doris May Smith's Obituary
Doris M. Smith 96, of Tucson, Arizona passed away July 20, 2023. She was born on January 14, 1927 in Alameda, California, to the late Frank Cowden and Gertrude (Hammerson) Cowden. She has resided in Tucson for 63 years. Doris turned her love and passion for Water Gardens into a Nursery business specializing in water garden plants, goldfish and koi. Doris was predeceased by her former husband Lawrence W Smith Sr. and her oldest daughter Deborah A Smith, and a grandson Ryan Thomas. She leaves a son, Lawrence W. Smith Jr. (Marilyn) of Tucson and two daughters, Bernadine Calkins (Lyle) of Tucson, Karen Thomas of Tucson. She leaves 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life get together is still in the planning stage.
