Most Rev. Doug Knox
Most Rev. Douglas Alden Knox passed away May 17th after a brief battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
He was holding his wife’s hand. The family is grateful to Catalina Hospice for their support.
Douglas was born March 8, 1939 in Buffalo NY to Clayton T. Knox and Mabel H. Hall Knox. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA, and married the love of his life, Beverly Birt in 1962. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Doug served as an officer in the US Navy on the USS Nicholas during Vietnam. He had a long career in HR in Dallas, Boston, and Scottsdale, and then after initial resistance, answered the call to ministry. He attended Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest with his wife, graduating in 1999. Doug served many years as an Old Catholic/Anglican Priest and Bishop, providing outreach and ministries including bringing sacramental and pastoral care to assisted living centers, nursing homes, hospitals, prisons, and community service organizations.
Doug is survived by his wife, Beverly, and his son Scott Knox, and daughter Heather Knox, Son in law Scott Hubbard, and grandchildren Parker and Brianna Knox Hubbard.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Jun 24, 2023 at 10:00 am at Northminster Presbyterian church, 2450 E Fort Lowell Rd, Tucson Az.
