Leaha Twist
Eddie always wanted to be outdoors. When he became ill and in a wheelchair still he was wanting to go for a walk. It’s 118 degrees outside and I wheel him out the front door, down the driveway and he says go left I like it that was. As I turn up the road and sweat beating down my face I see that I’m going to be at a slight disadvantage seeing how it was completely up hill and I’ll be pushing him up the hill in his wheelchair The stirrups that his feet are supported by supported by didn’t get put back on the chair so Eddie tended to drag his feet from time to time. As we approach the top I am definitely panting and out of breath. I stop and turn Eddie around and he sees my face drenched in sweat he looks at me and says well what’s wrong? Why are we stopping? I said Eddie I’m tired I can barely breathe. He says to me, well I’m not. I feel just fine and I came up the same hill you did!!!
