Edwin Leslie Snell's Obituary
SNELL, EDWIN LESLIE, 77 of Show Low, died Friday June 30, 2017. Beloved husband of Loretta Snell and ex-spouse Sharon Mae Ham. Preceded in death by his late daughter Duree (Joe) Bojorquez; His mother Lorah Anne Peck, father Thomas Leslie Snell, and grandmother Millie Carretto. Ed is the beloved father of Lezlie “Vee” (Gerry) Golden; Cheree (Bradley) Gunter and Julie Snell; devoted stepfather to Thomas (Laura) Allen Jr.; Annette (Joe) Jackson; Dear brother of Anne (Rusty) Clayton. Cherished grandfather of Ashley Goode, Bryan (Amy) Bojorquez, Caysee (Clint) Werthman, Cassidy Gunter, Jake Kehret, Jessica (George) Meffly, Courtney Gonzalez, Austin Allen, Tanya Allen, Rachel and Kailey Greco. Also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; Chaden, Drake, Elijah, Eva, Marlee, Preslee, Aria and Waylon.
Mr. Snell was born in Bisbee Arizona and was a standout football player at Bisbee High School. Upon graduation, Ed became an AZ Highway Patrol Officer for 12 years. Later he was employed by Kino Springs as a construction superintendent, he then worked for New Pueblo Construction. Ed’s entrepreneurial spirit lead him to open his own construction company. In 1978 he partnered with Hollis Harris and John Rounds to form Tricon Contracting, Inc., In 1980 Ed bought out his partners and became the sole proprietor of Tricon. Currently today Tricon Contracting is an active successful underground utility company under the leadership of Ed’s daughter Vee Golden and David VanGelder who will continue in Ed’s legacy. An avid sportsman, who enjoyed hunting with his dad, until his dad’s passing, was one of Ed’s first loves. He was a Certified Pilot and owner of a Cessna 182, remote control pilot, enjoyed rebuilding and refurbishing old vehicles and enjoyed his many animals. Ed was the founding president of The Tucson Underground Contractors Association, and now referred to as the Arizona Transportation Builders Association. Ed and his wife Loretta built a beautiful home in Show Low known as “The LES Ranch” where they enjoyed spending many happy times together with friends, family and most of all each other.
