Eileen Becker's Obituary
Heaven gave the most beautiful welcome for Eileen Drushel Becker on the evening of July 1st. Both Tucson, Arizona and her home town of Erie, Pennsylvania had extraordinary sunsets and Tucson even added a rare perfect rainbow just when she left. She bravely endured a short but very cruel brain cancer and will forever be our hero. She kept her hilarious and fun sense of humor until the last day. She was a devout child of God, cherished daughter and sister, amazing wife, loving mother, wonderful grandmother & bama, proud great grandmother and dear friend. She was born to George and Marie Drushel on July 20, 1939 in Erie where she spent her sweet childhood, made lasting friendships, married the love of her life and raised her two daughters. Eileen was a graduate of the Villa Maria Academy Catholic high school in Erie where she met her treasured “club girls” with whom she kept a close and special friendship with her entire life and where “the class of ’57 goes to heaven” rings true! She retired from Mellon Bank in Erie and moved to Tucson to be near her young grandchildren, play golf and enjoy the warmth of the desert. In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her brother George Drushel. Eileen is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Charles Becker of Tucson; daughters Jacqueline (John) Stanley of St. Augustine, Florida, Sharon (Ron) Walk of Tucson; grandchildren Michael (Amber) and Anthony (Christy) Persichini of Texas and Eric (Sarah) and Nathan Walk of Tucson; great grandchildren Aubrey, Hailey, Isabella, Olivia of Texas and Gavin of Tucson; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held in Erie. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to the American Cancer Society. Eileen was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all she knew.
