Elena Verdugo's Obituary
Elena Verdugo, 49, passed away November 21, 2021 surround by her family and friends in the comfort of her home.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, teacher, and child of God. Her joys in life were found in her devoted faith, teaching young children, caring for her parents, enjoying her pets (especially her dog, Cookie), and watching old TV shows. Her hobbies included creating homemade art projects for family and friends, as well as collecting nativity scenes that she kept out year-round.
One of Elena’s greatest joys was working with children. In 2017 she graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She believed that children, no matter how young, could find delight in arts and crafts.
She is survived by her mother, Evangelina Verdugo; her siblings Eva (Randy) Batson, Guillermo Verdugo, Naomi (Michael) Gastelum, and Blas (Kimberly) Verdugo; and her nieces and nephews Esther Verdugo, Ryanne Gastelum, Angelica Verdugo, Antonio (Shayna) Verdugo, Marcellina Gastelum, Melissa (Brandt) Verdugo, Isabel Verdugo, and Matthew Verdugo. She was preceded in death by her father Guillermo H. Verdugo Sr. and sister-in-law, Patricia Verdugo.
The family would also like to offer our deepest appreciation to Elena’s dearest friends, Elvia and Nellie, who stayed by her side. Thank you for the love and comfort you offered her through her life and her passing.
Please join us in remembering and celebrating the beautiful gift of life of Elena Verdugo.
