Ellen Nestle McGregor's Obituary
Ellen McGregor, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on May 6, 1949, Ellen lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 35 years, Ian McGregor (March 30, 2017).
Ellen was the cornerstone of her family, always providing support, wisdom, and an open heart.
Ellen is survived by her son, Harry, and his wife, Heather. Ellen was also a doting grandmother to five grandchildren: Robert, Rebecca, Jack, Ian, and Angus, who brought endless joy to her. Her love for them was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Ellen grew up in Croton-on-Hudson New York. She worked as a research analyst for over 30 years, bringing sense to complex data regarding student populations and education trends at Niagara County Community College, Central Arizona (Community) College, and Pima Community College. She was dedicated to lifelong education, both in her own life, and in the lives of others.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire and guide us.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Congregation Kol Ami Religious School fund or the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona .
Ellen will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
