Emily Bradley's Obituary
Emily Bradley, 89, passed away on January 23, 2018. She is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, William H Bradley, her daughter Gail Bradley, her sisters Bernice George and Nancy Willis, her brother Barry Rinkleib, and nieces and nephews.
Born in El Paso, Texas, to Bernard and Anna Rinkleib but a Tucson resident since infancy, she graduated from Tucson High School in 1944. She enjoyed a 25 year career at Tucson Federal Savings (aka Home Federal), where she was their first woman branch manager.
A role-model for all, she was beautiful, generous, adventurous, practical and organized with an unfailing positive attitude. She loved the outdoors where she logged many hours of hiking, including in the Grand Canyon, and enjoyed the home she and Bill built in the desert for 42 years. Astute about the world around her and the family historian, she recounted stories of early days in Tucson, and she and her husband traveled often to Germany and elsewhere connecting with relatives. She learned German as an adult, documented accounts of her parents’ lineage and immigration to the US, and faithfully nurtured all her cherished relationships with family and friends.
Cremation and interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, and her life will be celebrated at a private memorial service. Donations in her remembrance may be made to the Nature Conservancy.
