God blessed them with a daughter, LaNette, and a son, Robert.
In 1952 Emily graduated from Roosevelt High School in Monticello, Indiana and IBM Business School. She worked in the payroll department at Link Belt Corporation from 1952 to 1955. In 1963 Bill and Emily moved their family to Tucson, Arizona where Emily worked for the Flowing Wells School District from 1969 until she retired in 1994. After retirement, Emily and Bill spent their time traveling to all 50 states and several countries.
