Fanny Gluck's Obituary
Fanny Gluck (2 Jan 1935 - 11 Oct 2015)
Fanny Gluck passed away quietly on Sunday morning, 11 Oct 2015. She was born in Ulm Germany, was a Tucson resident from 1970-2009 and Sierra Vista resident from 2009-2015. Fanny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her 4 children, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and countless friends. May she spend the rest of eternity in the loving arms of our lord.
My mother, Fanny Gluck, survived a very turbulent childhood growing up in war torn Germany. She was brave enough to make the long difficult voyage to America as a young teenager at the tender age of 17 in 1952. She then met our father, Abraham (Abe) Gluck who she then married and had 4 children with (John, Carola, Greg, and Larry). She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who cared for and sacrificed for her family. She was the most selfless person I have ever known, always putting everyone's needs before her own. She was devoted to her husband and waited on him from morning to night until his last days. She was also a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She would do anything to help out a family member or a friend in need. She spent her entire life caring for people. A better person I have yet to meet. She will surely dwell in the house of the lord for all eternity. She should not have any regrets about her life but only that she could not have stayed with us longer. It surely saddened us that her final years with us were marred with this heinous affliction of Alzheimer’s disease. Her great grandchildren will never know the loving, caring, compassionate person she had been. But we remember her as she had been for most of her life, an exquisite loving person. When I think of these words from Abraham Lincoln's Inaugural address "With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as G-d gives us to see the right" I think of my mother, because that is how she lived her live. May she rest in peace and may the lord watch over and take care of her for she has done what is good and right in this world. She is gone but will not be forgotten, for she has left an indelible mark of goodness and kindness on this planet. She has left behind a family that only has the fondest memories of her. Mother, we love you and we say "until we meet again". G-d bless.
