Fidel Olivarez Jr.'s Obituary
Fidel Olivarez Jr., known as "my handsome" & "my cutie patootie", by his two daughters, was born on April 12th 1945 and gained his wings to Heaven on July 16th 2023 at the age of 78. He peacefully left us with the love of his life, his girls, and his grandchildren by his side.
Fidel was born in Mission Texas and transitioned from this life to a life without pain, confusion, and suffering, in Tucson Arizona.
Fidel served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam war in 1967 - 1968. He was proud to be a soldier and fight for his Country. After leaving service he began working for Teledyne McCormick Selph in Hollister California.
Fidel moved his family to Santa Maria California in 1987 and began working with the Department of Defense at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc California along with NASA Western Space and Missile Center, with the successful launch of the TITAN and ATLAS missiles from 1986 to 1989. Fidel continued his career with the Department of Defense and worked at White Sands Missile Range in White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.
In 1992 Fidel moved to Tucson Arizona continuing his career with the Department of Defense and dedicated 28 years of service from DCMA Raytheon, where he then retired in 2007.
Fidel loved spending time with his family. He loved fishing, gardening, working on cars, landscaping, listening to music and loved the San Francisco 49ers. One of his greatest accomplishments was becoming a Grandfather, also known as "Papa"
Fidel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances; daughters Sylvia Woolard, Cynthia Dominguez; grandchildren Jessica Adrianna, Michael-Anthony(Dakota), Briauna Renae and his first great-grandchild Ezra Michael.
