Frances Melinda Forman Sloviter's Obituary
Frances Melinda Forman (Mindy) Sloviter, age 73, was a native Pennsylvanian born on December 21, 1951. Mindy passed away on January 21, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona due to the effects of a stroke.
Mindy was a loving and devoted mother, wife and friend. Her family and friends were the love of her life and her passing has left a void in their lives. She led a vibrant, active, and well-traveled life. She was an incredible cook, and she loved gardening, history, and traveling the world, but loved her children and grandchildren most of all.
Mindy earned Bachelor and Masters degrees at the Pennsylvania State University and went on to live in England, Israel, New York, and Tucson, Arizona. She worked in the Office of Governor Richard Thornburgh of Pennsylvania in her early working life, and later as a stay-at-home mother, an elementary school teacher, and eventually in Tucson real estate.
Mindy is survived by her two children, Sarah (Steven) Bronson and Benjamin (Yael) Sloviter, her grandchildren Maya and Zoe Bronson, and Rena, Batsheva, Aliza, Atara, and Yakira Sloviter and her former husband, Robert Sloviter. She is also survived by her sisters Marjorie Lawrence and Lydia Pine, and Robin Grobsmith, her closest friend of 51 years.
A celebration of her life will be held in San Diego, California in June.
