Frank Frederick Domanico's Obituary
Frank Domanico September 1942 – August 2025
Frank Domanico, age 82, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. Born in Utica, New York, Frank moved to Tucson in 1977, where he spent the next 48 years building a life full of purpose, friendship, and love.
In his early years, Frank worked as a dedicated meat cutter, but his true calling came when he joined the Tucson Police Department. What began as a role as a reserve officer in 1977 quickly evolved into a full-time career in law enforcement—a role he cherished for 26 years. “Father Frank” as he became affectionately known on the department, took pride in serving his community with honor and compassion, and he made lifelong friends along the way.
After retirement, Frank’s days were joyfully routine—mornings at the YMCA, where he worked out faithfully with friends, followed by time at Starbucks, sipping his signature 140-degree hot chocolate and engaging in spirited conversation about life and the world’s biggest questions.
Frank was a devoted fan of the Arizona Wildcats, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians. Sports were a lifelong passion, second only to his deep love of Hallmark movies, which he watched often. He was a man of unwavering faith and a longtime parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, where he worshiped and served for over 30 years.
Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debbie, with whom he shared a beautiful life. He is survived by his four children: Renee (Dwaine), Joe (Samantha), Clar (Jason), and Carlos (Tatyana); ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his brother Tony. His family was the joy of his life.
Frank’s presence lit up every room. Known for always having a smile on his face and being a friend to everyone he met, he was generous, kind-hearted, and full of spirit. His life was a testament to faith, family, and friendship, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
We would also like to offer a very heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at Northwest Hospital, the caregivers at Hacienda De Luna that went above and beyond to help our dad be comfortable while supporting us, and the entire staff at Harmony Hospice. All three of these organizations did an amazing job and were an incredible blessing to our dad and our family.
Donations in Frank’s name can be made to the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation.
