Franklin Coleman Rice's Obituary
Franklin Coleman Rice, 72, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2022 at TMC Peppi’s Hospice House in Tucson, Arizona. He was born on July 20, 1950 in Newport News, Virginia to Deward Bain Rice. Sr., and Mayme Janet (Collins) Rice.
Frank served proudly in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam and Korea. After his service in the U.S. Army, he earned a Bachelor in Liberal Science from the University of Mary Washington and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Frank then worked for Microsoft in Redmond, Washington as a Senior Programmer Writer for over 19 years and was published in several Microsoft application books and articles. Frank served in Tucson as Worshipful Master of the Masonic Oasis Lodge #52 in 2016 and previously served as Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge #80, in 1987, King George, Virginia.
Frank leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Janet M. Rice, and their six children; Deanna and son in law Billy, Jennifer and son in law Sal, Christine, Melissa and son in law Rich, Elizabeth, and Denise and son in law Mathieu; Brother Deward “DB” and sister in law, Nancy, Sister Nan and brother in law, Kenny, Brother Howard and sister in law, Barbara. Frank was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He will be remembered for his kind, generous spirit and great sense of humor.
